After working on island in the hospital, home health, and outpatient settings, I was inspired to start my own practice to better serve the needs of the community. As clinic owner and sole provider, I promise to provide exceptional, individualized care as we strive to achieve your therapy goals and improve your quality of life.

Meet Dr. McAlear
Owner of Maui Neuro Physical Therapy, LLC
Education: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from University of Nevada Las Vegas, graduated 2015
Residency: Neurologic physical therapy resident at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, graduated 2018
Specialization: Board-certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist (NCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists since 2019
Member: Hawai'i Parkinson Association board member since 2022, American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) since 2012, Neurology section member
Special Interests: Vestibular disorders, Parkinson's disease, functional neurologic/movement disorders
Hobbies: Spending time with her husband Dave and dog Chip, a Maui Humane Society alumni. Together they enjoy paddleboarding, camping, hiking, mountain biking, and exploring the island.

i.e. subdural/subarachnoid hematoma (SDH/SAH) evacuation, drain/shunt for management of normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), deep brain stimulator (DBS) for management of central tremors

Dr. McAlear will perform a multi-system examination to identify the specific impairments that are most likely contributing to gait and balance difficulties, and establish an individualized physical therapy treatment plan.
